Tadoba National Park

Located in the district of Chandrapur, the Tadoba National Park is well-known for its tigers. It is in fact a tiger reserve also. It has a good population of lions, the emperor of the jungle. The most famous species is the Asiatic lion. The name of this national park is derived from the name of a local God “Taru”. According to the legends, the supreme Taru was killed in an epic fight with a tiger. The Tadoba National Park is rightly referred to as the 'Jewel of Vidarbha'.
