Rollapadu Bird Sanctuary is situated at a distance of about 60 kilometers from the Kurnool area near Nandikotkuru in Andhra Pradesh, India. This popular bird sanctuary covers an area of about 614 sq kms and its vegetation include dry thorn type of forest, interspread with dry cereal crops, cotton, groundnut and castor. Endowed with a rich wildlife, the Rollapadu Bird sanctuary is the homeland of Black Buck, Bonnet Macaque, Indian Bustard, Indian Roller, Sparrows, Mynas, Russell’s Viper, Indian Cobra, Jackal, Wolf, Indian Fox, Indian Bustards, Lesser Florican, White eye Buzzards, Bar Headed Goose, Short Toed Snake Eagles, Painted & Grey Francolins, Rain Rock Bush and Jungle Bush Quails, Demoiselle Crane, Yellow Wattled Lapwing, Indian Courser, Chest Nut Bellied Sandgrouse, Eurasian Eagle Owl, Alpine Swift, Indian Bush Larks, Rufous Tailed Lark, Ashy Crowned Sparrow Lark, Southern Grey and Bay backed Shrikes, Rosy starlings, yellow eyed, common, large grey and yellow billed Babblers, Grey breasted, Plain and Ashy Prinias, Blyth's and Twany Pipits, White browed Wagtails, Grey necked and Red Headed Buntings, White and Black Storks, Pied Harriers, to name only a few.
