The Papikonda Wildlife Sanctuary is located on the banks of the river Godavari. The Papikonda Wildlife Sanctuary stretches to an area covering three major districts of Andhra Pradesh namely Khammam, East Godavari and West Godavari. The area of the Papikokonda Wildlife Sanctuary is very large. It spreads to an area of about 591 sq. km and is located at a distance of 50-km away from Rajahmundry town. There are lot of lush green forests and natural habitats that assist to make this wildlife sanctuary a typical ecological and geomorphologic zone. Forest rest house is available at Rajahmundry, Maredumilli, Kannapuram that ensures nice accommodation facility to the tourists.
