The Nelapattu Bird Sancturay is located on the East Coast about 20-km north of Pulicat in the Nellore district of Andhra Pradesh, India, which is at a distance of just 50-km from Chennai, Tamil Nadu. The popular Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary provides habitats to more than 1500 pelicans breed at this bird sanctuary and is considered one of the largest pelican habitats in Southeast Asia. Siberian Cranes and nearly 160 species of birds are the unique features of the Nelapattu Bird Sanctuary, which are found in abundance across the length and breadth of this bird sanctuary.
