Dandeli Kali Wildlife Sanctuary primarily has got moist deciduous and semi-evergreen trees, with a lot of evergreen trees in pockets. The commonly found plantation here are Bamboo and Teak. There are a variety of natural forest tree species, which include Adina cordifolia, Dalbergia Latifolia, Pterocarpus marsupium, T. tomentosa, Terminalia Paniculata, Grewia tiliaefolia, T. bellerica, Logerstroemia Isnceolata, Xylia xylocarpa, Cordia macleodic, Mitragyna parviflora, Kydia clycina and Vitex altissima.

The prominent mammals in the Dandeli Kali wildlife sanctuary include slender common langur, loris, gaur, sloth bear, elephant, mouse deer, wild pig, tiger, sambar, Malabar giant squirrel, leopard (black panther), wild dog, jackal, bonnet macaque, spotted deer, giant flying squirrel and mongoose. The most famous species in the sanctuary are Indian Cuckoo, Blue Headed Ground Thrush, Pied Hornbill, Crested Serpent Eagle, Magpie Robin, Golden Back Woodpecker, and Malabar Grey Hornbill.
