The sanctuary is very near the Cauvery River and is also known for the Twin Falls of Barachukki and Gananachukki. Apart from many wild animals and plants, the place is a natural habitat for the Mahseer fish. Different other animals found in Bheemeshwari Wildlife Sanctuary include boars, crocodiles, deer, jackals, leopards, monkeys, otter and various rare and endangered birds such as  cormorant,  heron,  ibis and  kingfisher. The place has a natural attraction for its vast resource of flora and fauna. One can also find many rare species of plants and herbs in the sanctuary.
