The Chapora Fort in Goa is a magnificent fort that never failed to magnetize
the tourists of the entire world. It is located 8 miles to the northwest of
Aguada and 25 km from Panaji. This fort was popularly called as “Shahapura” and
it was built by Adil Shah of Bijapur. This fort dates back to 1617 century,
which showcases one of the excellent architectures of Portuguese.
The fort has completely at its ruined stage today. Near to the fort there are many beautiful houses built in the dense groves of coconut and palm trees. There are many restaurants and cafes near to the Chapora Fort. There are direct buses from Panjim to Chapora Fort. This place always remain crowded with tourist from all over the world.
