Introduction
Shilpgram Museum, Udaipur is one of its kinds whose literal meaning is the “Craftsmen's Village”. Basically, it is an ethnographic museum which exhibits the incredible multiplicities in art, craft and culture that is prevailed in all the respective states in India. The potency of this Craftsmen's Village lies in its elegant terracotta work which is chiefly done in dark red and dark brown sand material along with the creative wooden carvings. History
Originally, the Shilpgram Museum only put in view simple objects of normal day life that epitomized the aesthetic sense in the bucolic and ethnic life. In addition to what we have said before, a Craft Bazaar was thoughtfully constructed for the localities where vacationers could buy regional Rajasthani crafts given a shape of traditional haat. Description
The Centre's Shipgram which is famous as rural art and craft complex is situated at the distance of about 3 Kms away on the west side of Udaipur city sharing its propinquity with the Havala village. This complex is sprawled over 70 acres of land and is deemed to be an ethnographic museum which exposes the West Zone folk and the lifestyle of tribal folk men.
In the way, a golden opportunity for both rural and urban artists to collaborate and exchange their information about this art of work through the procedure of camps and workshop organized by the Rural Arts and Crafts Complex in Shilpgram.
