Introduction and History
The Sultan Mahal is one of the regal forts and Palaces of Samode in Rajasthan. It used to be a ‘Palace of the Rawals’ of Samode who were the Prime Ministers to the royal court of Jaipur. These Rawals have also been the inhabitants of Samode for more than four centuries now, with the awarding of Samode to Gopal Singhji along with the inherited label of Rawal Saheb by his father who was the seventeenth prince of the house of Kachhawaha kinfolk of Rajputs named Prithviraj Singhji of Amber.
But, now the Sultan Mahal is already converted into a stunning heritage hotel which is the consequence of later developments and embossing which went on for centuries after the formation of this heavenly figure commenced. It is a magnum opus of a blend of Rajput and Mughal architecture.
Description
The Sultan Mahal in Samode is celebrated in the map of Samode region because of its appealing murals and multihued walls. Being the part of part of the Samode Palace Hotel, it is weighed down with silver fixtures and antiques that bestow the bystander with an opportunity to bask in the grandeur of the past. The palace is a witness to rich aesthetic, artistic, cultural and architectural tradition the Rajputs have left at the back - a custom that has captivated experts over for centuries, and will still do the same even for more centuries to come.
Nevertheless, the Sultan Mahal, Samode is now serving as more of a resting spot where the visitors can simply lie around taking pleasure in its wealthy interior decoration or skim through the books that are kept here.
