Introduction and History to the Achalgarh Fort
If spent ample amount of money that why to miss on integral tourist destinations in Mount Abu such as the Achalgarh Fort. Its story of formation is quite edifying. The fort is located at an accessible distance of about 11 km from Mount Abu and was built in year 1452. The intrepid Rajput ruler of Mewar, Rana Kumbha fore fronted the Rajput renaissance movement in the fifteenth century. He is accredited with the building of several forts in Mount Abu out of which the most popular one is Achalgarh Fort. He was extremely innovative and his idea of constructing this colossal fort next to the other thirty two is an exquisite example of his creativity.

Description of the Achalgarh Fort
Positioned atop the mountain peak, Achalgarh Fort allows explorers to go up the steep roundabout road to reach the fort. The fort offers spectacular sights to experience as it is delimited by huge walls that make it look even more alluring. And inside the equipped walls of the temple there are many beautiful temples that are known for their stunning figurines. The superb Jain Temples were built around 1513 A.D. out of the Kantinath Jain Temple is still carrying its old charm and brags of a gold plated image.

Second comes the Achleshwar Mahadev Temple that also majorly lies within the Achalgarh Fort. It is a very stunning edifice mostly thronged by devotees because of the image of Nandi that weighs four tones and is formed of five metals namely copper, bronze gold, silver and zinc. According to the famous folklore, it was built around the toe marks of venerated Lord Shiva and this revered shrine was built in the 9th century prior to the fort’s construction. Many sculpted idols such as natural Shivalinga made of a crystal like stone usually looks vague but the moment you keep candle behind them they all look gleaming like a crystal.

Nonetheless, the Mandakini Lake is bordered by hills and walls are carved with the pictures of Rajput kings and buffaloes.
