History of Kumbha Shyam Temple
Rana Khumba was happened to be an all rounder king who had a deep passion for music and art. Being an ardent supporter of Hinduism, he created innumerable Hindu temples. Kumbha Shyam Temple in Chittorgarh is spotlessly made by Rana Kumbha himself and the name of the temple was kept after him. This respective temple is wholly devoted to Varaha, who is believed to be an embodiment of Lord Vishnu ji.

Kumbha Shyam Temple is also constructed in the same Indo Aryan style as that of the Kali Mata temple in the same premises. But, it is bigger in size than Kali Mata temple. The prominent features of Khumbha Shyam Temple are its Pyramidical roof and a huge tower. The architectural design of the temple is very simple not intricate but, it is very meaningful. The theme of the design done on the interiors of the temple is set in the middle which presents the imagery of gods and goddess with eight regents. The doorway of the same is decorated with loops and designs and has an inner workroom as well.
