The fort was built by Chitrangad Maurya in the middle of 6th century. The district of Chittorgarh has stretched its arms over an area of seven miles covering 800 acres of land. Its fortifications, sacred temples, stately palaces and towers motivate the day-trippers to prepare a family trip to this fort.
It stands perfectly on 180 m lofty hill that climbs quickly from the plains lying below. It has overwhelming seven gates which have different names such as Hanuman Pol, Padan Pol, Bhairon Pol, Ganesh Pol, Jorla Pol, Lakshman Pol, and Rampol ahead within of the fort.
