Tour to Ramgarh Rajasthan

Ramgarh’ was constructed by the ‘Poddars’. The arena of Ramgarh is extremely different because of some fantabulosly looking structures such as Chattris, Havelis and Temples. Poddars decided to form all these structures to show Churus who forcibly imposed a heavy duty on the wool trade so, they decided to leave the territory of Churus and formed ‘Ramgarh’ under the guidance of Raja of Sikar who initiated Ramgarh in year 1791.

It is undeniably a very interesting place to visit as you will be highly impressed after seeing Ram Gopal Poddar Chattri on your Tour to Ramgarh. This particular chattri looks very stylish and sumptuous. You will find nearly about 500 frescos on them and out of these chattris, the top most of the dome are the most remarkable. The theme of these murals is the pictures from the Lord Krishna from Ramayana which is why, Ramayana Chattri is also flamboyant about blue depicting scenes from the Ramayana.

On a tour to Ramgarh, you will encounter, the Bashashwarlal Poddar Haveli is recognizable for its flower-patterned designs beautifully painted in ochre color. Anant Ram Poddar Double Haveli, Jagannath Poddar Double Haveli and the Havelis belonging to the Ruias are the other eye-catching images.

The Ganga Temple is the superlative temple of all the prevailing temples of Ramgarh. Despite the fact, its is beauty is fading away but, still it has a great appeal among the visitors The murals and the beautiful mirror work within the interiors of the Shani Temple are also very admirable. The Hanuman Temple referred to by the locals as the Lal Kuan Mandir is in a dilapidated state but when on a Tour to Ramgarh, one cannot afford to miss out on the fine murals on the vaulted ceiling in front of the shrine.

Some of the other structures that can be included as a part of your sight seeing trip in Ramgarh are the Nawar Niketan, the Surekha Dharamshala and the Ram Lakshman Temple. Ramgarh being just 50 km from Bundi, it is a good place to visit particularly for those who are planning for Excursions from Bundi. There is no doubt that the visit will remain vividly in your minds for days to come.

And do make sure to pick up a few specimens of exquisite Rajasthani wood work on your Tour to Ramgarh. It is the best place to shop for them.
