Introduction
The very famous Mayo College, Ajmer is called the "Eton Of India" since when it was established. The control of the college is in the hands of Board of Governors and the Principal leads the college. The session starts from July to April and is segregated in two sections.
Autumn Term
It starts from the middle of July to early December. Whereas
Spring Term
It starts from the middle of January to the end of April or in the beginning of May.
The college aims at giving the healthy ambiance which is why it organizes activities such as educational trips, sight seeing tours, camps, expeditions, treks and much more in the middle of the first term.
History of Mayo College Ajmer
The foundation of Mayo College was laid by Richard Southwell Brouke. Several designs were offered by many architects but finally, Major Mant's Indo-Saracenic design was selected by the Viceroy in June, 1875.
The construction commenced in the year 1877 and got completed in 1885. The total amount used in the construction was around Rs. 3.28 lakhs. Very few people know that the first student of Mayo College in Ajmer was H.H Maharaja Mangal Singh of Alwar.
