Rao Karamsiji who was the 8th son of Rao Jodhaji founded Nagaur in Rajasthan and his hands are behind the formation of this dauntlessly standing Khimsar Fort, Nagaur in 1523 AD. While throwing some light on Khimsar, we get to know that he was one of the head of clans of Marwar and also the leader of house of Karamsot Rathors. But the Khimsar folks migrated at some point in the 18th century when a new 'zenena' (ladies wing) was added to Khimsar Fort.
History
