Day 1: Delhi – Leh
Arrival at Leh airport marks the beginning of your Ladakh Monasteries Tour. Here you will meet our representative who will take you to the hotel. Relax for the remaining day. Take a short walk around the bazaar in the evening and return to the hotel for overnight stay.
Day 2: Leh – Monasteries
On day 02 of Ladakh Monasteries Tour, visit some of the famous monasteries (90 km). Early morning, reach Thiksey monastery and attend the prayer ceremony. Proceed for a visit to Hemis monastery. Also visit Shey Palace while returning to Leh. Overnight at hotel.
Day 3: Leh – Monasteries
Today Ladakh monasteries tour package includes early morning visit to Spituk monastery and later to Phyang monastery. In the afternoon, visit Leh Mosque, Kings Palace, Leh Gompa, Bazaar and Shankar Gompa. Spend the night at the hotel. Your third day tour to Ladakh monasteries ends.
Day 4: Leh – Khardongla Pass – Leh
Today visit Khardongla Pass (85 km), the main attraction of your tour to Ladakh Monasteries. It is the highest motorable pass in the world and a must see in travel to Ladakh monasteries. Return to the hotel in the afternoon. Overnight at hotel.
Day 5: Leh – Alchi
Leave for Alchi monastery in the morning. This is a major attraction in Ladakh tours. Unlike other monasteries in Ladakh, Alchi monastery is situated on flat ground. En route, halt at Bazgo Castle near the Indus River. By lunch time, arrive at Alchi. Overnight at hotel.
Day 6: Alchi – Lamayuru – Leh (168 Kms)
Leave Alchi in the morning and head towards Lamayuru, the 10th century monastery. Stop en route at Khaltsi for passport check. From here, a 22 km drive takes you to Lamayuru. Return to Leh in the afternoon. Overnight at hotel.
Day 7: Leh – Stok Palace
Day 07 of travel to Ladakh monasteries consists of visit to Stok Palace built in 1825 by King Tsespal. On your return drive, stop at Choglamsar village or the Tibetan refugee camp. Return to the hotel by afternoon. Spend the day at leisure. In the evening, visit the local Ladakhi family house. Overnight at hotel.
Day 8: Leh – Delhi
Ladakh Monasteries Tour ends here. Reach the airport in time to board flight to Delhi and proceed for return journey home.
