Day 01: Cochin- Kumarakom
Day 3: Kumarakom
The Kerala Flavors tour begins with the arrival at Cochin where you are escorted by the Indian Horizon representative to transfer you to Kumarakom. Check in the resort for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 2: Kumarakom
After breakfast short cruise to "Philip Kutty's Farm" It is a small home stead on an island. See the cultivation of various tropical fruits and vegetables and also a short demo of simple home cooking. Afternoon will be at leisure. A cultural show will be held in the evening followed by Dinner.
Next morning after breakfast precede for a demonstration of preparation of a "Sadhya"a vegetarian wedding feast which is the specialty of Kerala. Enjoy the food served on banana leaf to be eaten by hand. Afternoon will be at leisure and proceed for a cultural show in the evening followed by dinner.
Day 4: Kumarakom to Thekkady
After Breakfast proceed to Periyar. Check in at Spice Village followed by lunch. Later on enjoy the boat safari in Lake Periyar. The Periyar is one of the most scenic spots of Kerala to enjoy the natural beauty. Dinner will be at the resort and spend night at Spice Village.
Day 5: Thekkady
After Breakfast visit a Spice Plantation and Tea Plantation. Lunch will be served in the resort and in the late afternoon proceed for a cooking demonstration. The theme will be cooking with spices.
Day 6: Thekkady
Proceed early in the morning for cookery demo after breakfast. After lunch proceed to Kumily Market for a walking tour of the shops selling different types of spices. Dinner and overnight will be at Spice Village.
Day 7: Thekkady to Cochin
After Breakfast proceed to Cochin. Stop at the plantation Bungalow for a typical home lunch. Enjoy the dinner at the Taj Malabar Seafood Restaurant. Over night will be at Cochin.
Day 8: Cochin
After breakfast proceed for a city tour of Cochin including the ancient Spice Market at Mattancherry and Chinese Fishing Nets. In the afternoon meet the chef for a short final session on the "menu planning" and practicalities of the cuisine of Kerala.
Day 9: Cochin
After morning breakfast enjoy the half-day hands -on experience with Hotel Chef on various Kerala Food. Afternoon will be at leisure. Enjoy the sunset cruise at the harbor. A Farewell Dinner will be organized for you.
Day 10: Cochin departure
Breakfast will be at hotel. Transfer to airport for your flight to the next destination. With this the Kerala flavors tour comes to an end with sweet and spicy memories of India.
