Marina
BeachMarina beach, located on the eastern side of Chennai, adjoining the Bay of Bengal is one of the loveliest beaches in India. The 4.5 km long beach is one of the longest beaches in Asia and the second longest beach in the world. Marina beach lies to the east of Chennai (Madras) at Kamarajar Road, 3 Km from the city centre.
Kanyakumari Beach
Kanyakumari is the southern most tip of India. It is the place of union for the three oceans - The Arabian sea, Bay of Bengal and the Indian ocean meet here. Kanyakumari is an important pilgrimage center, attracting several thousand pilgrims to its surroundings.
Ooty
Ooty, also known as Ootacamund or Udhagamandalam, which lies 7,349 ft above sea level in the Nilgiris, is known as the Queen of southern hill resorts of India. Situated in the Nilgiris, this famous hill station is at the junction of Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Karnataka, three southern states of India.
The Rock Fort Temple
The Rock Fort Temple complex in Tiruchirappalli or Trichy is a fine combination of three temples, the Manikka Vinayakar temple at the foot of the hill, the Uchhi Pillayar Koyil at the top of the hill and the Taayumaanavar Koyil Shivastalam on the hill. Shivastalam is a rock cut temple on a hill and the most noticeable landmark in Tiruchirappalli, reached by a flight of steps on the way to the famous Ucchi Pillayar temple.
