Introduction about Thalaklayi Subrahmanya Temple : The presiding deity of Thalaklayi subrahmanya temple is Lord Suramaniya. The temple is just 5 km away from the Kasargod Town .The main festival held in this temple is Shasti. People from across the country come here to witness the splendid occasion.

Description: According to the legend Lord Murugan represented by Lord Subramanya at the Thalaklayi Subrahmanya Temple eradicate evil forces reside in the form of demons like Taraka. Lord Murgan killed this demon and tries to bring back the righteousness in to this world. Te festrival of Shasti signifies the predominance of good over evil. The festival is held after the Navaratri or Deepawali on the day of Amavasya. Devotees offer prayers and also opt for fasting during this festival.

Time for celebration: Since the Shasti Festival is celebrated after Navaratri. The time for celebrating this festival is generally October or November.
