Introduction about Kumbala Sree GopalaKrishna Temple : Kumbala Sri Gopalakrishna Temple is located at Kasaragod district of Kerala. It is one of the oldest temples in Kerala and the presiding deity here is God Gopalakrishna. It is a very famous festival of the Kumbala Sri Gopalakrishna Temple and is visited by people from across the country.
Description: Kumbala is located at Kasargod in Kerala and is flanked by 12 rivers. The annual festival held here, lasts for seven days. The temple is a centre for the performance of a nightly folk opera known as Yakshagana. The temple of Ananthapura is located just few km from here. Numerous temples are situated near the Kumbala Sri Gopalakrishna Temple. They are Adoor Mahalingeshwara Temple, Anantheshwara Temple, Mallikarjuna Temple and Thalaklayi Subramaniya Temple. The festival at the Kumbala temple inaugurates with Dwajahoranam on the day of the Makara Sankramana.
Time for celebration: The festival at Kumbala Sri Gopalakrishna is celebrated in the month of January and lasts for five days.
