Introduction about Kanjiramattom Kodikuthu Ernakulam : Celebrated in the month of January on 13 and 14 every year, it is a muslim festival. The Kanjiramattom mosque celebrates the Kodikuthu festival with great fun and fervor.
Description: The Kanjiramattom mosque was built in the memory of Sheikh Fariduddin is the place where this festival is held. During the Chandanakkudam ritual at night the pilgrims carry pots covered with sandalwood paste and go in procession to the mosque. You can get to see a glimpse of the six caparisoned and ornamented elephants and folk performances which add color to the show. Visitors can enjoy traditional Muslim art forms like Duffmuttu and Kolkali , which are organized during the festival. The traditional art forms like the Oppana and Mappilappattu are also staged during the festival. These are song and dance performances which are a part of the Kanjiramattom Kodikuthu, Ernakulam.
