The Church of Lady Rosary Old Goa is situated 8 kilometres from Panaji. The Church of Lady Rosary was marked as the first victory of Portuguese in Goa. The Church of Lady Rosary is one of the oldest charch in Goa, which is built in the year 1544. It took six years to complete the Church. It stands at the top of the Monte Santo Hill. Every year, in the month of November, a feast day is organized with lots of entertainment like fetes, music bands, dances accompanied by fashion shows.
This church showcases the magnificent architecture of the Portuguese. The church looks more like a fortress with windows near the roof and rounded towers. The Church of Lady Rosery is cruciform in plan with a square apse. Inside the Church, you can find carved miniature pillars and many inscriptions in Portuguese. Tourist from all round the globe used to come to admire the beauty and decoration inside the church of Lady Rosery.
