Five airports in India have been designated
as international airports. They are the airports of Delhi, Mumbai, Calcutta,
Chennai and Trivandrum. Of these five airports, Delhi and Mumbai are the
busiest. Other than the designated international airports, limited
international flights also operate from Indian airports in the cities of
Ahmedabad, Amritsar, Agra, Bangalore, Calicut, Cochin, Guwahati, Goa,
Hyderabad, Jaipur, Lucknow, Tiruchirapalli and Varanasi. It is for the
information of foreign tourists that these are all designated 'Customs
airports' and allow landing of tourist charter flights and international
flights by the national carriers of India.
