Mariam’s Tomb in Uttar Pradesh was an outstanding building towards the
west of the Akbar’s Tomb. Mariam’s tomb is located on Agra Mathura
or Delhi road. The tomb was constructed by Jehangir in the memory of his mother
Mariam Zammani. Akbar himself named the tomb as Mariam’s tomb or Mariam
Zammani’s Tomb. The grave of Mariam was made by white marble. The tomb
is in a very poor condition now. The building has nothing remained totally
ruined and destructed. A Christian Mission School and a Church is erected in
the close vicinity of the tomb. It has widely said and believed that Akbar
himself structured this tomb in the memory of his beloved Christian wife Mariam.
