Itmad-ud –daula is the first tomb in India that is made up of entire
diamond. It is located in the old city area of Agra. This is the tomb of Mir
Ghiyag Beg, who was a minister in the court of Shah Jahan. This carved tomb
confirms the master architecture of Islamic style. The Itmad-ud-daula is a
fusion of Indo-Islam architecture. The octagonal shaped arched entrance signifies
the Persian influence. When you take a bird eye view from outside, it looks
like a jewel box in a garden. There is no dome in this tomb. You can find extensive
semi-precious stones in the main chamber of the tome.
