Guru-Ka-Tal is one of the most august and honored places of Sikh, situated
in Agra, an extra ordinary spot known for its forts, monuments and architectural
grandeurs. It is the most divine place of Sikh’s, visited by four of
the ten upturned prophets of Sikhism. A wide number devotees makes their holy
trip to the place and pay homage to the great Sikh Guru in every year. Actually,
near Sikandara Tal was a reservoir of 17th century. It was decorated with stone
carvings. The reservoir is spacious tank in square shape. Primary construction
material is red sand stone and plastered and decorated with glazed tiles.
Now only eight Tal towers have survived and been recovered. This Gurudwara better called as Guru-Ka-Tal was contributed to the grueling labors of Sant Sadhu Singh Maunai in 1970’s. Guru-Ka-Tal is now counted as one of the chief attractions of Agra as well as in India. This Gurudwara remains open for devotees from down to dusk. Here no entry fee is required for devotees. It was established at the site where Guru Tegh Bahadur surrendered to Aurangazeb, the Mughal Emperor. Thus each architectural splendors of Agra possesses a distinct quality and zest.
