There are some regulations regarding healthcare in India. These regulations ensure prevention than anything else.
Yellow Fever
Any person may be kept in isolation for a period of six days, if he or she has arrived from an infected area by air or sea without a certificate. In any case if yellow fever is reported from any part of the country, then the country is regarded as the infected zone with yellow fever.
Malaraia
The risk to suffer from malaria exists in every parts of the country throughout the year. No certificate is necessary, but it is recommended to take a course of anti malaria pills. Protect yourself by using repellents and wearing long sleeved shirts to protect yourself from malaria.
Cholera
While arriving to India from cholera infected area, tourists are required to possess a certificate.
General tips of the tourists
- It is recommended to drink only bottled or boiled water. Make sure that the seal of the bottle is unbroken. Avoid tap water, fountain drinks, and ice cubes.
- Avoid intake of junk foods from road side stalls.
- Eat unpeeled fruits and make sure that the foods you are taking are hot and hygienic.
- Keep insect repellent always with you.
- While traveling in hot and humid place in scorching heat, use hats, sunglasses and drink enough water.
- Keep fast-aid box (antibiotics, antiseptic cream, uv lotion etc.) always with you.
