Kathmandu Temples and Mountains Tour

Destinations: Kathmandu – Nagarkot – Kathmandu

Day 01: Arrive Kathmandu
On arrival at the Kathmandu airport you would be met with our represents and will be driven to the hotel. After freshening-up we will take you to visit the Durbar Square, Hanuman Dhoka, the ancient royal residential quarter, Mahadev and Parvati Temple, Machhender Bahl-holy place for the Buddhists and Hindus, Temple House of Kumari, the vestal virgin or the living goddess. Walk around the local bazaars. Also visit Swayambunath, a 2500-year old site where, it is believed, the Radiant Lotus of the valley-mythology, settled when the water was drained by Manjushri, the god of Wisdom. The 5 dhyani Buddha's attended by their consorts are enshrined at the base of the Stupa. (Non-Hindus are not allowed inside Swayambhunath temple). Over night stay at Kathmandu.

Day 02: In Kathmandu
Morning after breakfast we take you to visit Patan. In Patan you can visit the old Newar City, the historic Durbar Square, the Golden Gate, the sky piercing temple of Teleju and the statue of Yogendra Malla. Marvel at the old carved windows and balconies of wood, curio shops and bazaars. In the afternoon we take you for an excursion to Bhadgaon, Bodhnath and Pashupatinath. Bhadgaon is another Newar city founded in the 9th century. Visit the ancient Gateway, Durbar Square the Royal Residential quarter of Bhupatindra Malla, the famous five-storied temple of Nyatapola in pagoda style and other temples. Later, visit Bodhnath, the 2500-year old Buddhist Stupa, - a holy place for Buddhist pilgrims from Tibet. Also visit Pashupatinath temple where Shiva is worshipped in the form of lingam. (Only Hindus are allowed inside). In the month of February an annual pilgrimage on the occasion of Shivaratri is organized here every year. Over night stay at Kathmandu.

Day 03: Kathmandu – Nagarkot
Morning you are to depart for Nagarkot enroute visiting Bhaktapur. Bhaktapur is one of the three major towns of the Kathmandu Valley. Bhaktapur means "the city of devotees" in the Sanskrit language. It is also known as Bhadgaon. The palace complex in the middle of the city portrays the prosperity of the Malla years and the details at which the crafts- people then worked. The palace of fifty – five windows stands in the square and it was home to many kings of Bhaktapur. It is perhaps the most popular of the three Newar towns of the Kathmandu Valley. On arrival, you are to check in at hotel. Over night stay at Nagarkot.

Day 04: Nagarkot – Kathmandu
In the morning you can witness the sunrise at Nagarkot, a small village seated at about 7500 Ft altitude, offering fine views from Dhaulagiri in the west, to Kanchenjunga in the east. On a fine day one can even see the tip of the Everest from here. Later depart for Kathmandu and on arrival check in at hotel. Over night stay at Kathmandu hotel.

Day 05: Kathmandu – Fly Back Home
This is the last day of your trip. We transfer you to the airport after breakfast. From here you are to take a flight for your onward destination.
