The sanctuary is spread in an area of 192.31 square km. It was declared as a Sanctuary in the year 1979. Two most prominent rivers flowing through the Barda Wildlife Sanctuary include Bileshvary and Joghri rivers. Khambala and Fodara are the two dams of the sanctuary.
