The architecture of Adalaj Vav comprises a seven-storied structure that was constructed in the shape of a well. The well contains a Sanskrit inscription that narrates the entire history of the place with dates. The step well of Adalaj Vav, Ahmedabad stretches to 75.3 meters. It has three entrance stairs with a stepped corridor and the platform of the structure rests on 16 pillars. There are four shrines in the building, complete with doors, windows and balconies. The beautifully sculptured wall of the step well shows that it is very ancient. The sculptures depict floral designs, birds, fish and stunning ornamental designs.
