The Golden ChariotThe Golden Chariot train welcomes you to board you on a fascinating journey through many fascinating places in Karnataka. The Golden Chariot will take you to seven nights and eight days of luxurious voyage of discovery in Southern India. This fascinating journey begins every Monday from Bangalore and cruises through Mysore, where you can witness Srirangapatna, Mysore Palace; the Nagarhole National Park (Kabini) and then continuing to the historical sites of Shravanabelagola, Belur-the 11th century cradle of Hoysala architecture and a world heritage site, Halebidu, Hampi. Then the Golden Chariot will take you to the triangular heritage site of Badami, Pattadakal, Aihole, and finally to the Golden Beaches of Goa. Goa is the last place to visit through the Golden Chariot train before ending your tour in Bangalore. You can include new chapters in your memories with every rotation of wheels of the Golden Chariot. Every coast of Golden Chariots is named after the legendry dynasties who ruled Karnataka. The names of coaches are like Kadamba, Hoysala, Rastrakota, Ganga, Chalukya, Bhahamani, Adhilshahi, Sangama, Shathavashna, Yudukula and Vijayanagar. Every coach is fully air-conditioned. The passenger can find Wi-Fi, DVD with 6 satellite channels, LCD television, and private bathroom with accessories. The starting time of your tour is at 1900 hrs from Bangalore Railway Station. You should come to the station at least one hour before the departure time. Overnight, travel to Mysore town. Day 02 : Tuesday : Mysore & Srirangapatnam Excursion to the Island Fortress of Srirangapatnam at 0830 hrs. View this magnificent fort built by legendary king-Tipu Sultan. Then visit the magnificent Mysore Palace. Then view the Vrindavan Gardens that spread over 150 acres. Return to the train to Hassan town. Day 03 : Wednesday : Nagarhole Wildlife Reserve You will reach to Nagarhole Wildlife Sanctuary at 0830 hours, which is popularly known as Rajiv Gandhi National Park. Witness the tigers, leopards, deer, wild dogs, langur, 300 species of birds & elephants at Nagarhole. Return to the train to continue your tour. Day 04 : Thursday : Belur, Halebid & Shravanbelagola Today from Hassan Railway, after one hours of journey you will reach Hosalyas temples at Belur & Halebid. Then, view the Halebid temples where you can witness intricate carvings of Hindu deities, sages, stylised animals & performing arts. In the afternoon view the nacked statue of Jain Diety Gomateshwara at Sravanabelagola. This statue is 17.5 metres. Return to the train to continue your journey to Hospet town. Day 05 : Friday : Hampi The train will reach to the Hospet town at 0930 hrs. Drive to World Heritage site of Hampi, situated in a strange landscape. Visit the incredibly sculpted Vittala Temple, where you can find chariot in the temple courtyard. Visit the country side of Annegondi in the afternoon across Tanga Bhadara river. Travels to town of Gadag by train. Day 06 : Saturday : Badami, Aihole & Pattadakal At 0830 hrs the drive arrives at Gadag Railway Station. Then visit temple complexes at Pattadakal & Aihole. Proceed to Pattadakal World Heritage Site latter, which was once the capital of Badami Chalukyas. View the fascinating temples built between 3rd to 9th centuries. Then witness the World Heritage Site of Badami located at the foot of a red sand stone ridge. You can witness more than 150 temples. Get back to your train to continue your travel through the Golden Chariot to Goa. ![]() Day 07 : Sunday : Goa Today the train will reach to Goa. You can witness some World Heritage Site of Old Goa. Visit the magnificent cathedrals and enjoy in the exotic beaches. Back to the train to continue your tour back to Bangalore Day 08 : Monday : Bangalore Today at 1100 hrs the Golden Chariot Royal train returns to Bangalore. The tour of 7nights and 8 days ends today.
