Delhi has taken the challenge to organize such an enormous event as the Commonwealth. Commonwealth 2010 is scheduled to be in six venue clusters and five stand alone venues in Delhi. 17 sports disciplines are featured in the Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010 including the Ceremonies, Athletics, Lawn Bowls and Weightlifting.
Ceremonies, Athletics, Lawn Bowls and Weightlifting will be organized at Cluster I: Jawaharlal Nehru Sports Complex; Cycling, Gymnastics and Wrestling at Cluster II: will be held at Indira Gandhi Sports Complex. Archery (Qualification Rounds) and Table Tennis at Cluster III: Yamuna Sports Complex; Badminton and Squash at Cluster IV: Siri Fort Sports Complex; Hockey and Archery Finals (India Gate) at Cluster V: MDC National Stadium Complex; and Swimming and Boxing at Cluster VI: Talkatora Garden Complex.
Twenty-six new training venues are being structured for the Commonwealth Games Delhi 2010 for several other sport disciplines. Work has been completed partially and progressing satisfactorily in all the training venues. 16 training spots are being promoted and will be ready on schedule.
