The Namgyal Tsemo Gompa is located in Leh. It was founded by King Tashi Namgyal in the year 1430. This magnificent Gompa stands behind the Leh Palace. From the top of this Gompa you can capture an excellent view of the town. The splendid wall paintings boast as rich ancient manuscripts. The three-story high solid gold idol of laughing Buddha is the main attraction of the Gompa. There is also an old fort near to the monastery.
You can find a number of temples near to the Namgyal Tsemo Gompa. This Gompa remains open from the morning to the evening. This monastery witness numbers of tourist throughout the entire globe, since time immortal.
