Ladakh is a home to many magnificent monuments. The Shanti Stupa in Ladakh is one of them. The Shanti Stupa is situated on the hilltop at Changspa. The Fort Road leads to the Shanti Stupa. A Japanese Buddhist organization, which was popularly known as 'The Japanese for World Peace' constructed this magnificent Stupa. The main motto behinc the construction of the Stupa is to promote World Peace. The Shanti Stupa was inaugurated by His Holiness, the Dalai Lama in the year 1985.
This white-domed Stupa provides a spectacular view of the dawn and dusk. In the night, the Stupa appears excellent when illuminated with glittering lights. This magnificent monument reveals greatness of Indian historical legacies and is a major centre of attraction of foreign too.
