In 1831, this monastery was founded by the great Lama Tsultim Nima. It is located to a distance of 73 km from the Leh town. It is a home to 40 monks. You can witness number of shrines inside its monastery complex. The Rizong Gompa exhibits a rich a rich collection of painting blocks of Tsultim Nima’s biography. There is a nursery near to the monastery that comprises of 20 nuns. The Rizong Gompa is a beautiful monastery and so it witnesses a lot of tourists of the entire globe.
