Kangra Fort

The Kanga Fort is situated in old Kangra Town of Himachal Pradesh. It was believed that this magnificent fort was built by Raja Susharma Chandra after the war of Mahabharata. Once the fort was enclosed with walls and high ramparts to a long circuit of 4 km approximately. Though most parts of forts had ruined, but it is now maintained by the Archeological Survey of India.

The Kangra Fort is a magnificent monument of Himachal Pradesh that is located at a distance of 17 km from Dharamsala. This fort is famous for its beautiful century old paintings, palaces, temples and museum. The Kangra Fort is located to the middle of lush green forests and it is a major center of attraction to a huge number of tourists from all over the world.

In 1905, the structure of the Kangra Fort entirely collapsed due to earthquake. The Ambika Devi and two Jain Temples are just besides the Kangra Fort. Among the Ruins: Goddess Ambika Devi Temple & Two Jain Temples.
