Hemis Gompa

The Hemis Gompa is located in Ladakh region of the Western Himalayas. It was located at an altitude of 12,000 feet. This is one of the highest settlements of the world, which was enlisted in the UNESCO World Heritage Site. This Gompa was established in 1630 by Lama Tagstang Raspa. Many tourists from the entire globe come to admire this unique religious site. This site has been of great archeological importance, not only because of the sitting complexes; but also because of its unique interior design quality.
