The wildlife in Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary is a class in itself. The sanctuary is home to a wide variety of flora and fauna. Among the evergreen plants, tourists can find the world class species like Cullenia, Elatum, Calophyllum, and Vellapine among many others. Among the semi-evergreen variety, one can find trees like Hopea, Mallotus, Cinnamomum, Zeylanicum and Philippinensis.
The fauna in the Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary is no less diverse. The major species of the animal kingdom flourishes in animals like leopards, wild boars, mouse deer, elephants, Indian bison, jungle cats and various types of squirrels. Apart from the big animals, one can find many snakes and birds in this sanctuary.
Aralam Wildlife Sanctuary - Tourist Information
Climate : At the foot hills of Aralam wildlife sanctuary, the temperature varies from 21° C to 40°C. However, at higher altitudes, the temperature varies from 8°C to 25°C. The Aralam wildilife sanctuary receives quite a large amount of rainfall which sums up to about 3,000 mm annually. From June to August, i.e. during the South-west monsoon, the rainfall reaches the maximum.
Best time to visit : The best time to visit the Aralam wildlife sanctuary is from October to June.
