Day 01: Arrive Bangalore
Your South India Expedition tour begins with an arrival at Bangalore International Airport. Afternoon you are collected from your hotel for half day tour of Bangalore. Visit tourist attractions of Bull Temple, Cubbon Park, Vidhana Soudha, Lal Bagh etc. Enjoy the evening at leisure. Over night stay at hotel.
Day 02: Bangalore - Mysore
This morning you drive to Mysore. Upon arrival check-in to the hotel. Afternoon you are collected from your hotel for a half day tour of Mysore. Enjoy the sight seeing tour of Mysore that includes Chamundi Hills, St. Philomena’s Church, Brindavan Garden etc. By the evening return back to the hotel for dinner and over night stay.
Day 03: Mysore – Ooty
Next morning drive to Ooty the next destination of South India Expedition. Ooty the queen of hills is in the Nilgiri Mountain ranges of Tamil Nadu. Ooty is renowned for its salubrious climate and scenic beauty. On arrival check in the hotel for dinner and over night stay.
Day 04: In Ooty
The whole day is at your leisure, to explore this beautiful hill-resort and visit its important places like Botanical Gardens, with 2,000 species of plants and an artificial lake where one can enjoy boating, the highest peak of Nilgiri range Doddabetta, which provides panoramic views of Coonoor, Wellington and Mysore on a clear day.
Day 05: Ooty – Cochin
Next destination of South India Expedition Tour is Cochin which proudly boasts a rich cultural heritage. Referred as Queen of Arabia, the city offers visitors Forts, palaces, museums, old churches, beaches and the practicality of a contemporary metro. On arrival check into the hotel for over night stay.
Day 06: Cochin
Next Morning after breakfast you are collected from your hotel for a half-day tour of Cochin covering the major destinations of Cochin that includes Fort Cochin, Mattancherry Palace, Jewish Synagogue, Bolghatty Island etc. By the evening return back to the hotel and enjoy the cultural programs of Kerala. Over night stay at hotel.
Day 07: Cochin – Kumarakom
This morning you will drive to Kumarakom an enchanting backwater destination with clusters of little islands on the Vembanad Lake. It is a perfect place for enjoying a laid back holidays. On arrival check in the hotel and after some rest enjoy trip to Kumarakom bird sanctuary, enjoy cruising down to the backwaters and fishing. Over night stay at hotel.
Day 08: Kumarakom – Periyar
Morning at leisure, later you drive to Periyar situated in the Idduki district of Kerala. Check in the hotel and enjoy the tour to an artificial Periyar Lake and visit Periyar wildlife sanctuary. Over night stay at pre booked resort.
Day 09: Periyar – Madurai
Next morning drive to Madurai, the city of nectar nestled down near the Southern tip. This 2,500 year city is famous for its Tamil cultural attractions. Upon arrival, check in to the hotel. Afternoon you are collected from hotel for a half day tour of Madurai. The tour includes great Meenakshi Temple, Tirumala Nayak Palace, Alagar Hills and Tirupara Kundran Rock Temple. By the evening witness the holy ceremony at Meenakshi Temple. Over night stay at temple.
Day 10: Madurai – Chennai
Next morning you will be met by India Horizon representative and escorted from your hotel to Madurai Airport to connect the flight for Chennai. Upon arrival, check in the hotel. Enjoy the rest of the day at leisure. Dinner and over night stay at Chennai hotel.
Day 11: Chennai
Next morning after breakfast enjoy the half day tour of Chennai that includes the famous places of Chennai like Santhome Cathedral Church, St Thomas Mount, Fort St. George, St. Mary’s Church, The Fort Museum etc. Enjoy rest of the day at leisure or shopping. Dinner and over night stay at hotel.
Day 12: Chennai -Mahabalipuram
Next morning after breakfast drive to Mahabalipuram , the last stop of South India Expedition. It is a sleepy coastal town situated 60 km South of Chennai. Upon arrival check in the hotel for dinner and over night stay.
Day 13: Depart Mahabalipuram
Leave the hotel for Chennai Airport for your flight home. You can extend your tour to spend some time on the beach of Mahabalipuram.
